The Central States Fair, Inc is a non-profit, member-driven organization which manages the Pennington Country Fairgrounds and produces Central States Fair, Black Hills BBQ Festival and the Black Hills Stock Show and Rodeo.The Central States Fairgrounds host 280 different events throughout the year plus produces 33 days worth of events such as the Central States Fair and Black Hills Stock Show and Rodeo®. Some of the fair activities include the carnival, free stage entertainment, along with exhibiting crafts and culinary in the open class competitions, cattle shows and multiple horse events. The Central States Fair also offers nine nights of grandstand entertainment from concerts to the Range Days Rodeo.The Black Hills Stock Show & Rodeo® in Rapid City features events, rodeos, and vendors. The region’s largest trade show, livestock sales, and competitions and is one of the top 5 indoor PRCA rodeos in the country. There are 10 different breeds of cattle sales, a two-day horse sale, and seminars for livestock producers, horse enthusiasts, and the general public. Events are held at the Central States Fairgrounds and at The Monument (444 Mt. Rushmore Road).
