This historic trail is a walk back in history to the mining boom of the 1880s. The trail follows the Rockerville Flume route which brought water from Spring Creek to an area near Rockerville for gold miners. Along the way you’ll be able to view historic artifacts and parts of the flume itself. The trail can be difficult to follow at times, so be prepared with map and compass or GPS. The Flume trail consists of the main trail which is approximately 12 miles, Loop A which approximately 2.7 miles, Loop B which is about 3.8 miles and the Boulder Hill Overlook spur trail which is about .9 mile. If you are doing the Flume point to point, parking a vehicle at Coon Hollow and starting at the Calumet Trailhead near Sheridan Lake is recommended. If you aren’t up for doing the full 12 miles. Starting at Spring Creek Trailhead and doing the Loop A is a nice alternative.
