Grizzly Bear Creek is a challenging trail in a remote part of the Black Elk Wilderness. The trail is steep at times and there are many downed tress blocking the trail in several areas that you need to climb over or go around. There are a few small creek crossings along the way. This trail meets up with Norbeck Trail and then on to Black Elk trail which would take you to Black Elk Peak (Harney Peak). If you continue on to the summit on the adjoining trails it would add approximately 3 miles to your trip. To make a loop you can follow the Norbeck and Centennial to get back to the starting point. Be on the lookout for wild raspberries and an abundance of wildlife including mountain goats! This trail is perfect for the adventure-seeking people wanting to avoid the crowds on the main trail to Black Elk Peak.
