After parking you will follow the four-wheeler trail down the hill a little ways and then you will come to another gravel road, take a left. Follow the road for a little over a mile and you will see some large boulders on your right that block motorized vehicles from accessing the area. There may be some rock cairns stacked on top of the large boulders. You will follow this old four wheeler trail down into the canyon, staying to the right on the way downuntil you come to a steep corner with some big rocks in the road. Look to your left and you will see a sign that says no motorized vehicles and a partial fence. This is where the trail takes on an otherwordly feel. It is absolutely beautiful with the clear stream and lots of green plants including wild strawberries! From this point on you are in a dense, moist forest with moss covered rocks and lots of vegetation. You will follow a clear stream which you will have to cross several times. The trail is sometimes hard to follow due to the overgrowth of plants, but stay close to the stream and you will find it again. Overall this trail is difficult and not recommended for children or anyone who would have difficulty with steep,rocky terrain. On your way out, you will mostly stay to the left until you get to the final small hill you came down at the start. (A GPS mobile app or a compass is a good idea to help find your way back out.)
