Don’t let the short distance fool you! This is a challenging hike. You start out needing to cross the creek and depending on time of year this can be difficult without getting wet. Then you start a steep climb that gets more treacherous as you get closer to the top. Much of the hike is loose rocks/gravel that forced us to bear crawl up and slide on our bottoms on the way down! Once at the top, the caves were cool, but I was still worried that one of my kids was going to slip and go tumbling down the hill. Had I known what this hike was like, I would not have taken 3 year olds. This hike is a lot of fun for older kids/adults, but not recommended for little ones.
