This is a loop which starts at Horsethief Lake and combines 3 trails: Horsethief, part of Grizzly Bear Creek and a portion of the Centennial. This is a wonderful hike to see less traveled areas of the hills. Once you get to the Centennial portion of this hike, you will see a spur trail which is an out and back that will take you to Mt Rushmore. If you choose to add this to your loop, it will increase mileage by close to 2 miles. Most of this loop is rather remote and you should not run into alot of traffic. You may see mountain goats on parts of this trail along with more common wildlife such as deer. Wild raspberries tend to grow in this area, so if you are hiking in July or August, you may find a treat along the trail.
